I show this to my Special Ed English classes. I find my student stay interested in the movie. Even if you are not good with the language of the time, Kenneth does such a good job with the images the viewers can easily follow the story!! It is a beautiful and toching film.

If you love the theater, this is the ultimate version. The brilliant narrative introduction with Derek Jakobi is pure genius (I was wondering how Kenneth Brennagh was going to work around the long narratives: kudos!) Every single actor is at his/her best. One tiny caveat, although English-speaking audiences will not notice: Emma Thompson does a superb acting job, but her French accent is a bit off at times. DO NOT watch it in French: Kenneth Brannagh is dubbed by Gerard Depardieu, who is brilliant. The problem is you can't help but recognize the voice and it becomes quite annoying after a while.

I love this rendition of Henry V. Brannaugh plays the part of a young and impetuous king to the tee. His moving portrayal of Henry will leave you awe inspired. I too watch this version several times per year and never fail to enjoy it.

Yes, I've seen it. I've also seen Olivier's version and truly believe one must see both. They are equally compelling, cover almost the identical scenes but Olivier's is an aristocrat's view of war and Branagh's is a foot soldier's. Both are valid, both are compelling.
