An intense dark superhero movie with a good plot and witty original characters this is a great performance by both Ron Pearlman and Luke Gross who by the way has given us another solid performance just like he did in Blade 2 they are both great movies Blade 2 and Hellboy 2 but this is defiantly the better of the two. Not only is the film's dark nature very appealing but the Golden Army soldiers themselves are brilliant looking and moving. Excellent film recommended to all.

I like this comic for being a bit different. Super hero’s with flaws and feelings. But the movie basically just developed enough for them to make a third movie.

This was a good, fun movie. I do not usually like these comic book type of movies but it was very enjoyable.

Hellboy 2: from print to screen was an all around fun romp. It is an adequate follow-up to the original movie. Wittier dialogue, better action sequences, stranger characters, weirder settings and just the right amount of bang for the buck. Will it appeal to most - no. Will it appeal to comic book fans - maybe. Will it appeal to Hellboy fans - YES! Kudos to Mr. del Toro on awakening our imaginations.

The villain makes this movie sooo incredibly delicious!!! A very different villain than usual. I love the fantasy aspect. Very refreshing. I really like the Hellboy series. And this one was great too! Riveting, and action packed. AMAZING fight scenes. And I'm a girl!

Excellent movie, fantastic symbolism. Loved the fighting on the gears. Obviously another movie coming. Can't wait for it.

Hellboy 2 was great action packed, funny. Non stop action. This film will keep you stuck in your chair because of the neverending tension. One downside was that the ending was too fast could have been better. Overall it's a great movie.

It was okay. The concept of Hellboy is great, and Ron Perlman's acting was perfect, I thought. The movie itself was well-made, especially the setting; it was beautiful! However, the script was terrible. The plot felt unoriginal, the conversations were dreary, and some of the "plot twists" were predictable and boring. Not something you'll regret missing, I'd bet, but not something you should stay away from at all costs either.

What a piece of crap! The director recycled his visuals, the writing was more than cliché, and the only crowd that would enjoy this are 13 year-old males.

The plot is quite disjointed and the character development is poor. I realize this is the second film but often the characters make decisions with no explanation as to their rationale. I guess the audience is just supposed to accept that they're doing that "because" and leave it at that. Also (and I realize this is really superficial), if they'll spend hours on Ron Pearlman's make up to turn him into a red horned demon, can they not spend 5 minutes to get rid of those dark circles under Selma Blair's eyes? I mean, the woman always looks like her cat just died. The only character I actually enjoyed was the Elf prince. But he seams out of place in this boring film.

Del Toro once agian blends mythology, fantasy, the supernatural and human nature into a great film. One of the better movies to come out this summer.

I couldn't wait for the movie to end. The love story is lame and cheesy and the jokes weren't that funny at all. A perfect Hollywood "cut and paste" job. If you liked the first one, don't even bother with Hellboy2.

I was very disappointed when I saw this film. Its no hellboy 1. The jokes are very cheesy and to be honest the only reason I saw this was because batman: the dark knight was sold out.

I think the movie isn't good enough. The plot is flat. After the movie finished, I felt like somebody hadn't finished what they wanted to say. But those characters are nice and interesting. GOOD actors and actresses.

Overall I was quite disappointed with this offering. More action, less romance please! Too much effort was put into trying to "humanise" these characters... why? It spoilt what could have been a good movie!

I just went to see it last night and I thought it was awesome! The costumes and makeup were fantastic, and it was just such and amazing fantasy plot. I loved the characters and the humor that was in the dialogue. Do not miss this because it is an instant classic superhero movie! 2 thumbs way up!! Better than the first!

Well if you see the first one, this one is better than this one, the same effect, guillermo del toro type of effect, puppets and movie. Nothing new. The history is very lame and the villain is not very good at it.

Special effects, however well done, cannot compensate for a flimsy storyline, tedious scenes, contrived situations and terrible pacing. I was very disappointed since I really enjoyed the first movie. It is a beautiful movie and the characters were well defined, some quite interesting though lacking in development and depth.

Not as enjoyable as the first. Seemed like a lot of the ideas were borrowed from other movies. Having characters sing along to Barry Manilow was a low point.

I thought the film was well-made and some of the fx really worth while. I did find myself nodding off from time to time. Really wanted to stay with it, but the story line wasn't gripping enough. At least it wasn't as bad as I originally thought a film named "Hellboy" might be. I think some of the younger set would probably like it a lot.

Del Toro somehow finds that incredible duo of amazing and imaginative visuals that haven't graced the big screen together since Lord of the Rings and before that, Star Wars. This man creates visual fantasies unlike any I've ever seen. For him to be able to bring me to a place that is some sort of weird cross between Mos Eisley and Middle Earth, means that this guy really delivers something special. I can't wait for the Hobbit at this rate. On a visual level, the movie is perfect. But the screenwriting is just terrible. I couldn't believe how awkward the comedy was over and over again. I couldn't help yawning anytime the characters interacting with each other instead of the environment. In the end, I think the many flaws of the film get totally eclipsed by the sheer brilliance and ambition of Del Toro in how he transports us to another world so effortlessly. That Troll Market was simply incredible. I guess I should probably see the first one at some point...

I thought this was genius! Much better than the first. But I advise that you watch the first one before going to see the second. But yes, truly amazing. I was reading some of the other comments and I don't think it is anything like Pan's Labyrinth (which was also an awesome movie) but to each his own I guess. Anyhoo, a must see movie none the less. I give it a ten. It deserves soo much more though!
