This movie losses points for making Cameron Diaz look so unattractive, but gains points for introducing an overly attractive Catherine Keener. It also gains and losses points for a creative idea and poor ending, respectively.

Very creative and well-imagined concept. Brilliantly written, craftfully directed with a stellar cast! What more could you want from a film? A must-see!

Imaginative, well-directed, well-scripted, a great cast, John Malkovich too!

One of the best movies I've seen in the last few years. I was still chuckling hours later over the concept... Someone enters a portal from a 3 foot-ceilinged 5th and a half floor, that takes him directly into the head of John Malkovitch for 15 minutes, after which he is ejected onto an offramp of the New Jersey turnpike - I mean, how can you not love it?!?!

If only every film could be as strangely brillant...

I liked this one. It definitely presented a weird idea in a creative way. I loved how bad Cameron Diaz looked. The role said, "Hey, I'm an actor, not just Mary! " whole cast was good. While story was weird and interesting it made for enjoyable evening, but it's not a picture I'd need to see again.

This is one of the most brilliantly scripted movies to come out of Hollywood in a very long time. Acting is great, and story line hysterical and deeply intelligent. Do not miss the street puppet show!

I had high hopes for Being John Malkovich, I love Cusack and any music video by Spike Jonze kicks ass. But this movie however, BLOWS. It was sold as a comedy, how, I don't know. It's sad and depressing, the audience barley laughed, and when it ended, I was thrilled. It's not that I don't like art house type movies like this, but I think people just "like" this movie to sound like they know something. Tell me one, just one funny thing about this movie, I bet you can't. No offence to anyone who liked it, but it puzzles me how popular it was.

Very overrated (hardly the best of the year) but nonetheless kind of interesting. Borderlines on being too gimmicky.

Wow... What an amazing film. It really takes you into the world of this 'strugling artist'. I really felt Cusack in this one... he's brilliant. The whole story was great. [...] Incredible!!

I loved the opening credits so much, that the rest of the film just spiralled into greater and greater disappointment. It seems too much of an effort was made to be artsy postmodern.

Keener and Malkovich are 2 of my favorites. This movie sucked. Nickel an dime 'very original' idea. Pointless.

Yes!!! Thank you so much for this!! I thought I was the only one getting it... And to see some of these pitifull little fools saying that it's nothing special, not funny etc... These are probably some guys who think that they are cool going to the Dome and hanging out on Crescent street dressed in Point Zero and buying MC Mario CD's... Anyways, its one of the best comedies I've ever seen!! Thanks for your support!

I loved this movie! I was ready to see it again the next day. It was absolutely brilliant, interesting, amusing, refreshing, fun, sexy, morbid, enticing, smart... Anyway, you get the idea. Buy it, rent it, but make sure you see it!

A movie like no other, this genious script gives an outlook onto the twistedness of real life, giving hope to even the most hopeless of all humanity by showing the fact that there is an opportunity for anyone to make something that they like out of their life. This odd yet inetersting movie deseves to be regarded as one the best of all times. My best congratulations to the genious sccript of Charlie Kaufman.

Sorry! I could not see where the movie was purporting to go. I suppose there was a message in it somewhere, but a murky one at best. I forgot the movie's point as soon as the credits appeared.

Even though I had read the reveiws, this wasn't what I expected. Despite that, it was great. I think it will turn into one of those movies you need to see more than once to catch all the nuances.

Wow, a film that lives up to it's media-imposed "weird" designation. The story is out to lunch (this is a GOOD thing), and the acting is great. Malkovich is good as Malkovich.

This was truely original with hilarious moments. It slowed down near the end but still one of the best this year! I hope they do a sequel called Being Christopher Walken! He's a quirky and moody as Malkovich.

Easily one of the decades' most brilliant comédies. It captures some of the most entertaining subtleties. If you're receptive to them (subtleties), it will move you.

It's a sad day when people start giving this movie 9s and 10s. Juvenile, yes, original, ya so, funny, not one bit. What a waste of time and money. If people think this movie is "trippy" or bizarre, they should really get a life. It's skindeep and hollow. Nuff said.

Silly..., inspiring, brilliant and charming with a good dose of chaos. I don't go to the movies for the hard truth - but for an escape into the imagination. I was not disapointed. Recommended to those who like the unusual.

I was not impressed by the story line of this movie... The acting was actually very good , however in my opinion , even if the acting is exceptionnal, without a good story line the movie can't be considered good.

NOT TO BE MISSED! Great! It's about time something fresh comes out. A movie to challenge your mind. Excellent comedy, superb writing. The film should get the nod for best screenplay hands down, but knowing hollywood, it won't.

This movie is great! I mean it! It's original, quirky, strange, weird, well acted, well directed, I mean everything! I was surprised ! The best parts, I won't say it, can be described by two words: monkey and Malkovitch. It's really a brilliant movie.

The idea was original, and the beginning of the movie looked promising and funny. But I can't believe most people give a 9 or 10 rating to this sorry, morally depraved film. Produced by "Propaganda Pictures", this is (yet) another flick using comedy to promote objectionable ideologies (warning for all men and women of good will out there). Being John Malkovich, a General (G) movie ? I THINK NOT! Certainly not for children. Who rates these movies anyway???
