This movie has well developed characters and the storyline keeps you riveted until the final scene. More importantly, this movie has a point to make and it does so in an entertaining and effective way. Should be shown in schools.

The trailer I saw a while back was a lot better than the movie BUT didn't advertise the premise of the story properly. It was a good enough show and certainly communicated an important message about bullying. However I felt that the movie shouldn't have been 93 minutes long. The director could have communicated the story much better within 60 minutes. In fact I remember watching an awesome British/Indian short film back in 1993 which concerned a teenage boy being bullied by white British guys in his class. Personally I think that movie was better (I wish I could remember the name of it!) Overall I wouldn't describe this flick as entertaining but I feel it has an important message and should perhaps be shown in schools. Don't know if it would make much of a difference where bullying rates are concerned but it might spark something in people's minds.

Why I give it a 10? Because I have the similar experience before. The ending is impossible in the real life, but it is a good ending.

Ben X tells the compelling story of Ben, a young tennager afflicted by Asperger syndrome. While never losing the track on Ben's turmoil, first-time movie director Nic Balthazar has been able to integrate - in a very esthetic and clever way - online games to this powerful movie. A must-see!

Riveting. Despite limited financial means and the hazards of a first movie, Balthazar (author and director) proposes a fascinating journey through the mind of a 'troubled teen', superbly protrayed by Greg Timmermans and Laura Verlinden, who plays a highly credible mother. Once again, we must be thankful that this project (originally a book and screenplay for the theatre) was not conducted in the USA, which would have certainly focused on a outburst of violence. On the contrary, Balthazar explores the theme of solitude through the eyes of a 'different' kid, for whom the thin line between reality and fantasy blurs out has his scholl environment becomes more and more alineating. Remarquable movie.

This movie is more focused on the interactions of the main character rather than a fantasy where a person escapes and becomes a video game character. I went into the movie thinking it would be like the matrix, where a person escapes into the game. The movie constantly keeps you wondering and on edge. You feel for the main character. Go see it!

WOW!!! Just an amazing movie. Powerful performances... you can just feel this guys pain. I only wish this movie wasn't subtitled, I would love to show it to my classes. A powerful film about bullying that should be seen by all teens. I defy anyone between 13 and 17 not to be touched by this movie. A definite must see.

What an amazing film!! I highly recommend it. The link between video game and real life in Ben's mind is very well done.

This was such a powerful movie. I loved the actor who played Ben. And for those who have seen it, I loved the ending and the last shot of Scarlite.

Full of emotion - real ones, not cinematically-enhanced ones that we often find in Hollywood movies. Perfect performances from the main cast. The best moments of the movie are between Ben and Scarlite. Those two actors had a fantastic chemistry on-screen!

This movie was phenomenal. A wonderfully made movie that is equally entertaining as it is beautiful. The entire idea od Ben X and Scarlite makes for a beautiful story amidst a very disturbing reality. Laura Verlinden is a revelation!

An absolutely fantastic movie. I had to say I was so happy to be given the tickets for the Montreal Premier since it is really a master piece. Ben reminds me of some "low-level" people around me. And he makes me really understand that each lonely heart is a moving and touching story. The striking ending gives the movie its life. I saw ppl applauding, being touched, feeling happy for Ben and also crying. I believe the movie brought different little things for each of the audiences to think about long time after the movie.
