Un film magnifique porté par un acteur au sommet de son art: Benicio Del Toro mérite amplement l'Oscar du meilleur acteur qu'il ne recevra sans doute pas. Enfin, je peux me tromper, mais nous étions tout au plus une dizaine de personnes par un mardi soir pluvieux, à tarif réduit, dans une grande salle. La film touche à deux grands thèmes universels: La perte d'un être cher et les problèmes de toxicomanie. Il traite également du thème de l'amitié masculine, sujet plus rârement exploité au cinéma. L'histoire se développe lentement par des retours en arrière qui nous permettent de mieux saisir l'ampleur du drame. Il porte la touche féminine de sa réalisatrice et c'est tant mieux. Pour une fois qu'Hollywood permet la sortie d'un film traitant de sujets difficiles, sans complaisance, vous devriez voir ce film, pour peu que vous aimiez le vrai cinéma. Un conseil cependant: Apportez vos mouchoirs.
