Difficile de noté ce film, bonne performance des acteurs principaux, propos tiré de l'actualité (l'affaire Bill Clinton à la sauce féminine) et fin tiré par les cheveux qui gâche la sauce. Joan Allen joue très juste le rôle d'une gouverneur qui se retrouve malgré elle dans un scandale sexuelle qui pourrait compromettre son accession à la Vice Présidence des USA. Un méchant gouverneur (le toujours excellent Gary Oldman) fera tous en sont pouvoir pour discridité la VP en devenir. Et le président, le savoureux Jeff Bridge, qui a toute les meilleures lignes du film. Malheureusement, le film devient un affaire de revendication politique (le sexe comme le dit si bien l'oncle Bill, c'est du privé, un petit cigare avec ça) plus qu'un film politique rondement mener. La fin est tellement prévisible (même moi, j'ai compris une bonne heure auparavant) que ça enlève un peu de bon goût à l'ensemble.
