I was in looovvee with the visuals and Rorschach is bad-ass!! Taking on those men in uniform with only a match and hair spray?!! Unbelievably awesome character. Imagine if he had superpowers. The plot was completely confusing to me and I'm sure there was a deep message to the movie but I couldn't see it. I'll just have to rent it 8D.

I think the length of this movie as well as the use of narrative probably bored a lot of people. I found it very dark and absorbing. The use of morality in superheroes as the main focus made this a very different and interesting style of movie. I loved this but it's not for everyone. It's a love it or hate it movie.

One of the most Iconic extremely well put together movies for our decade. Although the ending was disappointing, Watchmen stands as one of the best movies of 2009 as well as the best of the 4 Graphic Novel movie adaptions.

Great film. This is not a kiddie movie as it can be dark. But, it puts the "Superhero" in an entirely different light. Somewhat complicated plot in places so pay attention or do what we did, see it and rent the DVD once or twice.

Astounding. A superhero movie of epic yet intimate proportions, with a brain and a heart.

Bottom Line: While the visuals and artistry of the film are very well done, the actual plot is a mess and all over the place. A lot of unnecessary violence, a slow pace, and not much action. In all honesty, if you haven't read the comic/book, don't bother going to see this movie. That is the bottom line.

I must say I was not expecting it to be the way it was. I feel that the director has truly understood the themes and content of the comics. Very sad and Very well done!

I found three things about this show it was: gritty, visually striking, and a little difficult to understand. I think rottentomatoes says it best "the complex narative is difficult for those not already farmiliar with the source material". Still a welcome entry to the Superhero genre, Rorshack stole the show with his performance as the deep down grit iron will superhero and a little too much of Dr. Manhattan and his nudity but even so his atomic blasts where cool enough to make him worth remembering and The Comedian wow he was so cool. A good movie other Superhero movies are better such as The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, and X-men Origins Wolverine but about time we see something from DC besides just Batman or Superman.

Incredible acting, directing, and storytelling. This is one of the greatest movies I've seen in a long time. If you appreciate clever dialogue, character development, great cinematography, and can stomach a lot of violence, nudity, and a lot of tragic moments, then this movie is for you. If you think I'm being overly wordy or needlessly descriptive in this review, then this movie isn't for you. Be warned: this movie caters to those who enjoy intellectually stimulating movies where the concept of morality is constantly being brought into question.

The haters sure are giving me a good laugh. Anyway, I thought it was a pretty damn good interpretation. You can tell the director loves what he does. Seeing Rorschach in action is totally worth it. Sure, there were some disappointments (Laurie's.. tenacity.. kinda vanished), but not enough to get any hate from me. Saw it twice, can't wait to see it again.

I'm amazed that people could be bored by this movie. It's a fantastic book, and a fantastic movie. The cinematography was amazing, the acting was amazing, and it really did the book justice. I read a comment a while ago that said that the plot and the characters were 'shallow'. Are you kidding me? How many comic-book based movies are there out there where one of the main protagonists is a psychopath? So what if one of the characters was naked the whole time? Grow up. So what if the movie wasn't non-stop explosive action and actually had some SUBSTANCE? One comment said something along the lines of, 'Well, it sure isn't the X-Men'. I'm going to be honest, X-Men isn't really that great. It was okay, but really... you can't compare it to something so completely original and different like Watchmen. Jackie Earle Haley was amazing as Rorschach. I haven't seen a performance that good since Ledger as the Joker. This guy's face was covered for most of the movie, and facial expressions are a really important tool to an actor, and this guy still managed to do an amazing job just using his voice. When he did have he use of his face, it was stunningly amazing. Seriously, it's worth seeing just to see Haley act. Really a fantastic movie, I enjoyed it more then the Dark Knight, and I encourage you to go see it. Don't go expecting a typical superhero movie, because that's not what you're going to get.

I am still amazed that they got the funding to make this movie the way they made it although it must have helped that they did not have to pay any "A-list" for it. The scenario is structured more like a novel than a film which is why some people were thrown off by this movie but it is very fitting and honest it does not pretend to be a super-hero movie. It's almost experimental in its form and at the same time it reminded me of such B-series films as "The incredible shrinking man" or "The amazing colossal man". Classic stuff.

Oh Man! This is one of the baddest movies ever. They take the SEX & VIOLENCE formula to the limit. It was sooo long and boring... Don't see it unless you are some kind of masochist or you want to torture someone. What a crap!

We are awash in super-hero movies, and this one has the courage to be different. This movie asks some serious questions about society and politics, and apart from the requisite fight scenes, the interpersonal dynamics have some originality too. I have not read the comics, but an adolescent idealism comes through, and I felt it was handled intelligently and respectfully. I do not typically like action movies, but this had something more on its mind than adrenalin and shock. And the camera work was a real treat, well-thought out movement.

I havent read the graphic novel, so I dont know if it does it justice, but the movie is amazing, deep, psychological, funny, sexy, adventurous; it has every theme u can think of and the screenplay writers do a good job expanding every character... u cant understand it from just seeing it once (cant wait to come out on dvd)

Watchmen isn't your typical super-hero flick. Anyone who read the graphic novel will already know that. It's not about action, it's a social commentary to an extremely broken world. It goes into the motivations of the people who help while wearing a mask.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I actually liked this movie. Yeah it was long and a bit slow in parts but I did like it. And I've never read the graphic comic before. I think the best character in the whole movie was Rorshack. He was awesome. And for all you people talking about the blue penis, get over it. So what? Nobody's mentioning the sex scene between Nightowl & Silk Spectre II. That was a bit graphic too. But that didn't really bother me either. Some of the violence was a bit much but I just look away anyways. Overall I did enjoy this movie. I think the acting was pretty good and so was the action. I would see it again.

Haven't read the graphic novel, but definatley will after seeing this. Great action and cool characters. The only problem I found was the music; in some parts it fit... others it most definatley did not. It is a great movie to see in theatres.

This was the worst movie I have ever seen. Nothing interesting even happened until a good 2 hours in and by then I was dying for it to end. It was incredibly painful to find out that I still had another to go before it ended. Also, the 'superheroes' were the worst super heroes I've ever seen, most of them didn't even really have real super powers. Bad movie. Waste of money and waste of time.

This was one of the best movies that have came out in a while. The plot takes a long time to get going and you get kind of confused as to what is happening in first half or so. But the end ties everything togeter really well. This is a very deep and artistic movie. If you gave a bad rating to this movie because you see a penis then you need to grow up. Also so many people gave this movie a bad rating because they didnt give it a chance. You really have to pay attention to what is going on and follow the story and the characters carefully in order to fully grasp what the movie is tring to say. It is definitely a movie that you have to watch a couple of times to take in all of the content that the movie has to offer. It is also definitely a movie that only a mature viewer will appreciate.

People who are complaining about this movie have absolutely no taste. It is a perfect representation of the book, and should be loved by all. The only reason people seem to dislike it, is the fact that they have next to no attention span. If you can't stand to listen to a deep meaningful plot and only go see movies for the blood, gore and violence, you have serious problems and get yourself checked out immediately.

Great movie. Must see for anyone tired of "fast and stupid" movies. Reading a comic (or asking a friend who read it to explain it to you) is a big plus to understanding the storyline. Don't expect superman/batman/spiderman/sincity. Go with a relaxed mind and enjoy!

For those who are offended by the frontal male nudity... welcome to the 21st century. The story wasn't about that at all, no character mentioned it, it had nothing to do with the plot. It was a fine film if perhaps a little too violent. The acting wasn't that great either but the visuals were a treat to look at.

I loved it- and I'm an avid fan of the comics. The movie captured the feel of the comics perfectly- and I was quite amazed to see that there were points in it, where the movie and the comic cuts were nearly identical. The movie was rendered in a wonderfully artistic manner, and I was more than impressed.
