User's review

This movie brings nothing new to the screen. The story is an age old formula that seems to work well enough. A troubled young male has issues and to deal with his issues he has to face new challenges and overcome the odds to rise above it all and become a better person. We are taken on a trip with this young street dancer named DJ and we see him at his lowest and at his Best. This story is very typical of the genre... I. E. You Got Served, Step Up, etc. My rating is based on the fact that this movie showcases some of the black college traditions ( there really isn't a Truth University ) Stepping is an amazing form of dance and I was really impressed with the way Columbus Short(DJ) danced for the camera. He is very Good at what he does. Go watch it just for the dancing and you'll be glad you did. Don't expect any surprises in the story line because it's no where near original but the movie is still great to watch.
