It looks brilliant, the acting is great and the songs aren't too bad either. I only knew the general story of Sweeny Todd when I was growing up and I always assumed it was based on a true story, although my heart was broken last night when my friend told me its only an opera! I had only heard a Sweeny Todd song for the first time when I watched Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl and it was great to hear the song in the proper Todd context. Tim Burton has also really captured the filth and spoiled atmosphere which surrounded London in the 19th century. Whoever does the make up for the actors is absolutely amazing too. They really look like they are dying or lacking proper food! Definitely recommended for anyone that enjoys musicals or even gory, dark movies!
