Despite brilliant cinematography, despite the fact the good guys win, the bad guys lose - this is a profoundly disturbing movie. It illustrates, graphically, the brutal conditions of the World's Poor. The global aspect of this misery accompanies my way home as I wait at the Bus Stop @ Hastings&Main. A community of people, mostly men, they sit in the Carnegie Shelter, they stumble through the slush of our Christmas snowfall, wrapped in hoodies, mumbling to themselves. Groups of drug dealers spread apart as a police cruiser slides by on Main, the other side of a wall of snow. I could have rated this film higher, the editing, the cinematography were superb. But the story was thoroughly depressing.
