This is not the funniest comedy but it's worth watching. The comedians are not funny in the beginning, they do get better towards the end. This is not a movie for kids.

The reason why soo many people hated this movie is because they thought it would be the next Superbad and super funny. Not that it's not funny, it's just a different kind of comedy. It's much more serious. It's extremely well written and directed. The actors are fantastic, and this is possibly Adam Sandler's best performance yet. The music is great too... most of the time. What really makes this movie shine though, is the story. It's amazing and extremely thought provoking. I don't care if most people don't like it. They can go watch their Transformers or New Moons anytime they want. This is the most underrated movie of 2009 along with Whatever Works.

Nice comedy. Not Sandler's best but certainly watchable. Pleasant enough to watch at home but don't expect too much.

The best part of this movie was when the movie screen messed up for a few minutes and we were given free passes on our way out of the theatre. Definitely not worth paying for. There were some laughs, but I felt like I was being dragged on for far too long. I mean, it's sad to see Adam Sandler sad, but once he was happy again... I thought I would like the combination of humour and drama (because Sandler is pretty good at both sides of the game) but I now believe that he should pick one or the other. Good luck. The coolest part was seeing the youngest kid from "Knocked Up" grow a foot! Family home videos for their mom and dad.

Vulgar, vocabulary challenged. Use of the f word in every sentence. Limited acting, humor or creative thought. This is a real dud, waste of time, $$$. easily , the worst movie I have ever seen.

I think mainly the thing I Didn't like was just how it wasn't that exciting of a story, but theres lots of funny jokes in it. Maybe part of the reason I didn't like it thaaat much was cuz I was worried about my parents wanting 2 leave with me since it was so bad as far as being crude, but I like it averagely.

Don't take your kids to this movie, in fact, don't go at all... not worth it. Too long, too boring, too many sex jokes, too many references to sex in general, I'm appalled there are even children in the 1-12 category who are commenting on this movie. Take your kids to UP! People...

I didn't know what to expect before seeing this movie and yet I was dissapointed afterwards. Very weak storyline, jokes where cheap and the acting was half a**ed.

2 Hours of my life that I will never get back. My girlfriend and I went to this and were both very disappointed; it was more of a drama than a comedy and even at that, not a good one by any stretch. If you have kids, do not bring them along - lots of foul language and some sex scenes. A very disappointing experience overall; I would strongly recommend avoiding this movie.

Liked the rapper pointing out how hard fame was on a person's real life. Made sandlers choice to go after the girl more realistic. Liked to see the comedians throwing around ideas. Interesting that the comedians got laughs with the penis humour but were not successful until they could move past it. Might explain many reviews here. Thought sandlers did ok portraying lonely guy on top. Thought Rogen ok at guy climbing. Like movie just ok.

It was an okay movie to see if you're bored on a sunday afternoon. But really there are number of more interesting movies to see first if I'm being perfectly honest! It ran on way tooo long without any realy payoff that made it worth the lengthy wait. Moreover that I can take a penis joke with the best of them, but this movie took it to another redundant level. I mean honestly how many penis jokes can one tell before it stops being funny anymore! Overall a average movie.

I wish I had read the overall rating of this movie on Cinema Clock before I went to it - I have now done a service to the next guy and with my "2" have brought it even lower. Too long, fragmented, not funny - Seth and Adam - one note actors - friggin' horrible. And did I mention TOOOOOO LOOOOONG!

Funny People, Not. Nothing funny about this one. I gave up on Sandler years ago, but decided to go after a friend pressured me, big mistake. Never again will I watch a movie of his, not even on tv.

The movie was rather funny for the first hour and a half, after that, it became repetitive and dragged on for too long.

Quite a funny movie, but Judd Apatow's persistence with including his family in every movie is beginning to get annoying. It comes to a head in this flick, as the first 90 minutes is a compelling and funny story surrounding a dying comedian, but then we're hit with a further hour of a "dysfunctional family" movie that isn't really that humourous or entertaining.

Not bad, but if you're out looking for low brow, everyday Sandler comedy, you're not gonna like this. I thought the humor was subtle and amusing. It did at parts drag on and didn't really help the movie. Overall was a decent flick.

Ths movie was not bad. I was impressed, but it needed much more improvement. Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen are good at comedies, but this one is hard to understand.

Isn't it ironic as the title says 'Funny People' and indeed the main actors proved to be funny in the past. However, the story fails to be funny at all. This ends up being a disappointment. But perhaps some people will like the few perverted jokes.

With Adam at the reigns, I knew it would be very average. But with new blood in the mix I was hoping for more. More laughs, more good jokes, more story line, you know substance! Haha NO!!! Which is the funnist joke of all.

Big disappointment. Watched this movie on an impulse once I arrived at the movie theatre. Hadn't read a single review, just assumed it was worth seeing given the cast of talented actors / comedians. Given the title, I also expected a barrel of laughs. Not that I would put it past Adam Sandler to sober it up a little, in fact I rather appreciated his balanced mix of humour and drama in Click and Spanglish. But in this film I think he went way overboard on cheesiness. I understand the underlying point of the story, that the life of a comedian isn't easy. But the way it was told I think paints Adam Sandler as an egocentric douche bag. If this was pure comedy, I would have no problem with this (i.e. Don't Mess with the Zohan), but there's no way I could sympathize with his character's issues and afflictions in this snoozer of a movie. The only reason I rate this as high as a 3 is because of the perverted comic relief Jonah Hill provided.

Yeah, I didn't like it at all. Like many others not much laughter, it was like two different stories going on. The first was about him being sick and then it was about him getting the girl. Got really boring towards the middle.

It's a ok movie. It's actually a 6.8. There is some thought in there. You have some laughs. It is entertaining. Some of you might really like it a lot. Sandler is slighly different here.

This is hard to write as I love Adam Sandler. BUT!!! This was the most vile, digusting, vulgar, boring ineffective movie I have ever seen. Bad language I can handle, the dialogue in this movie is like nothing I have ever encountered. The writers of this must be perverts... Who has conversations like these... this is a sad world we are in if this is entertainment. What is even worse look at the age of these reviewers that loved this movie and thought it to be funny. Oh this is very disturbing...

Very good movie but changes half way through from comedy to romance, by far worse than superbad, observe and Report, Knocked Up, and The 40 Year old virgin, but still ok.

Crude male sexual humour tries to make the movie funny but instead it's laughable. Adam Sandler has done better and can do better movies than funny People. Not worth the price of admission!

I was expecting something with a bit more unique comedy, I mean after the first sequence of penis jokes it very tiring and they kept doing the same sort of routine over and over. In theory this could have been a very very funny movie. Adam Sandler was not very entertaining to watch in this flick. Stay at home - wait for the DVD and a long winter night when nothing else is on - then watch it.

This is the worst movie I've seen in a decade! It was NOT funny... very boring... and I believe 100% of the theatre packed movie-goers will agree with me. Folks, if you really need to see it; leave your kids at home as there are a lot of swearing/foul languages and they don't need to be exposed to such a thing.
