I was reading the April 08 issue of The Economist and they repeatedly refered to hybrid crops as slow to catch on, because of a lack of education, not mentioning how they cost four times as much and as a result cancel out any benefit from higher yield and serves to make big corporations like Monsanto richer and poor farmers in the grips of dangerous money lenders. Never has the name of profit been so sick. Excellent film. Monsanto was also the company that created exfoliant Agent Orange in the Vietnam war, which had created a multitude of birth defects, and still births.
