Kristin Scott Thomas is phenomenal as a scarred woman getting out of a lengthy prison sentence and having to navigate her way back into society, as well as into family life. The film has a slow pace, gradually revealing Juliette's (Thomas) crime. We are told that she murdered her six-year-old son but don't know why. Juliette is not easy to like--she's aloof, seemingly cold, and doesn't take kindly to people inquiring about her past. We still want to know more about her though. The film's strength lies in the two terrific actresses (Thomas and Zylberstein), and the plot. I found the ending rather anti-climatic, but the film as a whole is still highly recommended.
