Still interesting and worthwhile to see this movie again, even after all this time.

Long boring movie. Very slow. Not much action. Very long. Mostly boring. For it's time it has good special effects, BUT could have been much better... with a better plot, more action, and more aliens.

CE3K is a great movie. A bit dated now but it doesn't get the acclaim it deserves, as it was released when Star Wars first hit the screens. One of Spielberg's best.

I really should watch this again. It was great when I saw it. Dreyfuss plays a maniac personality so well. Really nasty as the government tries to keep the people called from reaching the ship. Movie build wonderfully in tension before hitting a magnifient cresendo (spelling?) with the arrival of the ship.

I really enjoyed this movie... I believe this movie should be for all ages... This movie really makes you feel like you are right there as if it's happening to you... I own the movie now and watch it often... Every time I see it, I catch something which I must have missed previously and still touches me the same way... Although I know that the special affects could be perfected with the up-to-date technology, the effects worked so well for this movie... a change probably wouldn't be very noticable... Thumbs up to Richard Dreyfuss, a great actor and Steven Spielberg, a great director... Since Close Encounters of the Third Kind, I haven't missed a Spielberg movie.

Yes. I think that for the time in which it was made it was excellent. The visual effects have never been outdone by any other movie so far. It touched all the senses. Funny, scary, sad, happy and worth the investment in my library.

I've never looked at mashed potatoes in quite the same way. This movie is delightful, amusing, lots of underlying text and tone, but at the same time deliciously simplistic, childlike really. A treat for the eyes and ears and heart.

CE3K is the definitive movie on the subject of aliens from outer space and one of the best films ever made. The story is non-stop entertainment, spectacular effects, with great photography and a powerful musical score. It's a Spielberg movie at its very best.

I had never seen this movie until recently. It does not live up to the hype. I struggled to stay awake. I love science fiction, but this is truly a lousey movie. By the end the naa-naa-na music really grates on you.

This movie deplays a religious underlining theme of compassion and understanding. Richard's character goes through a jungian rite of passage (the process of individuation). The modern Moses! Truly a masterpiece!

Even by today's standards, this movie has brilliant effects and a great story. Richard Dreyfuss is great. I remember when I first saw this movie how it awed me, and to this day after seeing for the upteenth dozen time... It is still one of my all-time favorites. This movie is great for everyone.
