To say that this is an original movie is a major understatement. 500 Days of Summer is so much more than original. One of the movie's tag lines is "a story about love that is not a love story!" So true!!! Joseph Gordon-Levitt delivers an excellent performance as the male lead who falls for the always cute Zooey Deschanel. She may not have the greatest acting range, but she makes it work. But this movie isn't about the two leads or the great supporting cast, it's about the story, the writing, the editing/directing... it is visually appealing, and just such a joy to watch, from the very opening credits to the very last spoken word. It's a shame that most people have not heard about this movie, because it truly is a little gem! An excellent movie, a must see, 9/10 without the slightest bit of hesitation.
