[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Hi: I enjoyed the first half, but felt the second half lurched to a predictable conclusion despite the slightly ambiguous ending. Maybe it was just a problem with Tinseltown's projector but I found the film was out of focus the entire time. There were also several continuity lapses, mostly with the character Norman's hair, which alternated between wetly slicked back and dry, parted on the side. Doubt that this was a sleek symbolic thing since this movie isn't like that. Still a 7, enjoyed it. [...] 7/10 19.9.2004 -

Great characters, great story. My friend saw it the Brooklyn film festival told me he liked it even more the second time because there's a lot of details he missed the first time around. Don't miss this one.
Funny, sad and sharply written. I really loved this movie. The characters were well developed and very well acted. It deals with a difficult subject matter with humour, not an easy task. Comedy is the hardest kind of film to get right. And this film really finds a balance between humor and tragedy, something I feel a lot of "cross-cultural" stories lack. Go see it, a diamond in the rough!
