User's review

Adaptations of successful books are always watered down in effect. In this case the problem is compounded by the fact that the original book is typical British humour that you either love or hate (kind of like Monty Python, but not the same... ) The story is fairly true to the book, including a lot of direct quotes. I found it to be little more than a slightly more sopisticated version of the old TV show. It had a TV like quality to it that you should be able to escape in movies. Not a "waste of time", but it was a little disappointing.
