Had this been a normal male/female love story it would have been slow, plodding and routine. As it is, the twist of the unusual relationship is not enough novelty nor interesting enough to lift the film much above mediocrity. The characters are deep, the acting is great and the cinematography is amazing. But it's just not enough to make up for a pretty 2 dimesional script. It managed to just keep my interest.
