This is the worst movie I have ever seen. I would not go see this movie again if I was being payed $20. There was nothing good about it. No action, not funny at all. Don't bother wasting your time watching this movie. It was even worse than I expected.

The movie write-up doesn't do this film justice. It was cleverly written & very well acted. There were laugh-out-loud parts and hide-your-tears parts. Casting sister/brother Joan Cusack and John Cusack as sister/brother added to the chemistry in the film. I could definitely see this movie again.

I thought this movie was brilliant - very touching. The story of an orphan child, Dennis, (Bobby Coleman), very much wanting to be loved. I agree with critics saying this is one of the most heartwarming film of the year!

I liked it very much. It was a little sad and like all my friends cried and stuff. Very touching and could teach your kids a lesson.

A simple story about a father raising a troubled adoptive son. Mildly comical and sad.

Charming if somewhat predictable little movie. John Cusack plays his standard adorable role (for a writer, his character's speeches were a tad disappointing), but the child is who makes the film worth watching. Beautifully shot, too.

I loved it! Emotion, laughter, serious yet light in moments. A perfect balance. It's touching without being wishy-washy, I even cried (and it's quite hard to make me cry in a movie) Everyone who has a kid will relate to the unconditional love and struggling, even when your child is not adopted. John Cusack does it again! A very intelligent movie, which I would recommend to anyone.

Chick Flick Alert! Chick Flick Alert! Not that that is necessarily bad, if fact I quite enjoy many of the chick flicks that I have been dragged off to see. This one, however well done, is one long series of snivels and weepy eyes. Mr Cusack spends the whole movie getting in touch with his inner child; the kid spends the entire movie swiping stuff and taking polaroid photos (where in the heck was he getting the film since he was living in a box when Mr Cusack adopted him); Ms Peet spends the entire movie with the exception of one brief moment of realism heightening the sexual tension with long soulful looks at our hero; and I spent most of the film wondering the kid was going to sprout antenna a la My Favourite Martian or die of some dreadful disease caused by a space porne virus. There, now that I have been sufficiently nasty I can state that it is also a really interesting study of a weird adult finding a meaningful way to communicate with a weird kid - object? Family.

The Martian Child was a thought-provoking, interesting yet funny movie. This movie definitely made me think about the people around me that love me very much and helped me open my eyes. Bobby Coleman played a very lovable character. I recommend this movie to anyone that wants a serious, family movie thats funny enough for the kids and adults to get a laugh but a story line unlike all the others.
