Robert Morin, la simple prononciation de ce nom attise en moi plusieurs sentiments, mêlant respect, fierté (c'est un Québécois après tout :P), intérêt et passion. Ses films me bouleversent toujours, me chamboulent, me touchent, j'en sors constamment dans un état différent qu'avant mon écoute : changé, songeur, frappé, et incroyablement nourri, intellectuellement, et émotivement. Petit pow! Pow! Noël ne fait pas exception, film troublant, et surtout destabilisant! Morin nous offre une oeuvre très personnelle, intimiste, un voyage au coeur des émotions profondes, encore une fois, ils nous offre un film criant de vérité. Le budget est plus que modeste, caméra à l'épaule, un homme qui film son vieux père malade. Le tout se déroule majoritairement dans une très petite chambre, cela n'empêche pas Morin de faire part d'une force visuelle impresionnante, et d'une réalisation tout à fait maîtrisée. L'histoire est fracassante, les dialogues frappent comme des poignards, et le tout nous mène à une finale coup de poing qui fait frisonner. Bref, une oeuvre marginale, poétique, sombre, s'il vous plaît, restez jusqu'à la fin du générique, ce qui s'y trouve est bien poignant et réconfortant.

Malgré une apparente simplicité, c'est un film complexe d'une forme maîtrisée, littéralement porté à bout de bras par un cinéaste qui jette bas les masques et va, comme tout vrai créateur, au bout de lui-même, remontant jusqu'à ses origines - ici un père réduit à l'état presque de légume, ce qui donne un film dérangeant, en coup de poing (à l'image même de son titre) qui vous assomme sur le champ, mais c'est bien d'amour et de tendresse qu'il est question tout le temps, pour ce qui se révèle en fin de parcours comme un acte de foi en la vie.

Les dents me font encore mal! J'ai croqué chacune des images et j'ai du sang sur ma camisole de force! Blaque, certes, mais franchement avouons que ce film brasse la cage pas mal plus que l'Ovni à la Ronde! C'est comme attraper une sévère gastro et faire en même temps une "ride" de VTT "full pine" dans le sous-bois! Disons que c'est "émouvant" pour le corps et l'esprit! C'est un gros film, un très gros film, c'est peut-être un peu trop sincère pour plaire à ceux qui magasinent dans des boutiques chics, mais ce film est d'une réalité brute et insoumise. D'ailleurs tout ce que touche Robert Morin est comme une ouverture dans un monde souvent extrême. Ce sont les affres d'une vie vouée à filmer l'incroyable indigestion du temps! C'est mon coup de coeur pour 2005... drôle de parler d'un coup de coeur, puisque pour plusieurs ça risque d'être un haut-le-coeur full beurre jaune! À ceux-là, je recommande d'aller jeter un coup d'oeil dans les hospices de ceux que l'on nomment habituellement "bénéficiaires", c'est souvent là que l'on trouve les histoires d'horreur les plus étranges de notre époque! N'en déplaise aux romantiques, ça chit un humain jusqu'à ce que son dernier souffle se transforme en silence! La réalité ne ment jamais, c'est un 2 X 4 qui parle franchement avec abandon parfois... Et si ça vous donne mal au coeur [...], remarquez que vous pouvez vous passer de pop corn pour une fois! Au moins si vous en consommez, gardez le sac, ô mes frères, ça pourrait servir! Sur cela: VIVE LE CINÉMA QUI VA PLUS LOIN QUE CES TÉLÉROMANS FUTILES!

Excellent film de Morin Personnelement je n'amenerais pas mon père pour allez voir ce film. Film coup de poigt et très prenant, parfois touchant, drôle et même pervers. À voir absolument.
