The Kite Runner [2007] Movie Reviews on CinemaClock

I am giving this movie a 9/10 as well and consider this movie to be an excellent companion to "Charlie Wilson's War". I will not divulge why as to not spoil either of the two excellent movies, but seeing them both would make an excellent movie viewing experience. I had read The Kite Runner when it was released and really enjoyed the book. I remember feeling uncertain when it was announced that it was being turned into a movie. I just don't think that all great books should be brought to the big screen. Some should just be read only, so as to preserve their sheer magic. Marc Forster has done an incredible job of adapting this very challenging story to the big screen. He has kept intact the genious of Hosseini's masterpiece. Kudos to all the actors in this movie, both children and adults. All deliver incredible performances and bring to life the characters so vividly described in the book. Actually, kudos all around, from the music score to the cinematography. This is just an excellent movie on all levels, and it needs to be seen, to open our hearts and minds to the realities of our cruel world. Again, I recommend seeing seeing both this movie and "Charlie Wilson's War" (I would recommend Charlie first, and then The Kite Runner, for better chronological effect)
