Not a patch on the original - despite two of Holywood's really excellent actors, Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep. The 'mind altering' scenes are totally ridiculous - verging on racist - and devoid of the irony of the orignal. The script is as wooden as a brainwashed actor - capturing nothing of the seering political criticism of the Richard Condon novel. A big disappointment!
