I don't know why this movie has such a big rating. The acting is HORRIBLE!!! The story is very boring, it's the type of that doesn't deserve to be made in a big movie... it's more a story for TV movies.

I loved this movie, it was so much more then I expected. The racism was a little much but iit was still pretty good. It has ending you will never expect and it was a touch disappointing , but still a must see.

Shows just how messed up it can be growing up in a large urban center in todays wonderful world. Clint Eastwood was very good in it, as were the efforst of the supporting crew of actors and actresses. Classic cinema done with finesse and restraint. Well worth seeing.

Clint Eastwood and his work is like good wine: the older he gets, the better it tastes. Excellent movie! The kids are a bit camera shy, but the overall outcome is a definite must see!

The whole movie pumps you up ready for action, and then it never comes. Extremely racist and vulgar language permeates the entire movie.

One of the better movies I've seen in a long time. Clint Eastwood is brilliant as usual. Poignant and touching - I loved how the relationships developed. I highly recommend this movie.

I thought the story was excellent. The acting was not great. Clint Eastwood several years ago would have been perfect for the part. He seemed just a tad bit too old, and I feel like I must apologize for this comment. The other actors, apart from the sister, acted like rookies.

Wow. I was not expecting to see this type of drama. But it was well done - an awful lot of foul language though. My husband enjoyed it, and he really prefers action movies. A good one to watch and discuss afterwards.

Yeah. You know, when Mr Eastwood puts his head to something it just doesn't fail. He defines what a cinematographer should be like. The movies, the scripts, the acting. Everything is above-par. Now Don't go into to this movie expecting an oscar. Expect a tight, well written, well acted, well directed movie that is EVERYTHING its supposed to be. From the first of his movies up till this one, none of them fail. They are all incredibly well written and played out. The acting is RAW, uncompromising in how its portrayed. He's got it down. The story is relevant and in the end extremely touching. Finally someone who knows movies. I can't wait to see how this 78 year old legend continues to create wonderful, relevant movies.

Very enjoyable. A nice story that parallels the decline of traditional American culture and the rise of a more racially diversified America. Much more than an old racist Dirty Harry if that's what you are thinking.

Gran Torino The movie was watchable for the simple reason that you knew there were going to be some great Clint moments. And I don't think he dissapointed. If your looking for great acting or great story telling, you will no doubt be unsatisfied however if your looking to see Clint kicking some [...] in the hood, you will leave the theater with a smile on your face.

Unconvincing plot and poor acting make this movie almost unbearable to watch. I would have left halfay through if I wasn't with friends who didn't mind it. Eastwood's character shifts from one mood to the next without any reason and the plot has many breaks and inconsitencies which make it uninteresting to follow. The scenes that try to depict inner-city kids and gangs are laughably unrealistic and almost all the supporting cast look like real amateurs. The ending tries to be dramatic but fails miserably. Too many good intentions and morals are wrapped in layers of bad acting and improbable situations and character motivation. Was not worth my money nor my time.

Best Eastwood movie since Unforgiven. Clint looked like he was seriously overacting in the trailers but in the movie it fit perfectly! The movie was really riveting, honestly. You really don't know what's going to happen next. Eastwood's like, 90 or something and he's still tougher than all the 20-year-old gang members in the movie, you can't help but cheer him on.

It gets you at the heart, and has the classic Dirty Hairy-what more could you want? Great depiction of asian gangs and racism too, very realistic. The end really got me, I was almost crying."The innocent can never last"

Don't be misled by the film's title. Gran Torino is a story of where the generations meet. Where bigotry caves-in to justice. Eastwood has bridged the gap with this movie, capturing love and hate in a "salad" of culture, mingled with justice. Don't sell yourself short; this one you will be glad you saw.

This was a winner, the only thing keeping it from a 10, was some falacies in the plot as well as second rate acting from some of the supporting actors. Clint owns the screen, any fan MUST watch this ASAP.

Great storyline, great direction, great acting! Clint Eastwood is simply genial in this movie. I don't know much about his filmography but I really enjoyed the movie. There's a good balance between humour and pathos, that's the best 2008 movie I've seen so far. A must see!

It is a really good movie. It is still in the theaters after 5 weeks, and everyone needs to see this one. I found it to be about tolerance for intolerant visitors. The ending solidifies the conjured emotions. Great. Excellent.

This is good solid, Clint Eastwood film making. Not great, but good. The story is alittle cliche, despite it's good intentions. An seventy year old racist only has to get to know ONE Hmong family to turn into a Liberal? In his entire life it never happened? A beautiful idea, but a slightly cartoonish view of racism and age.
