The cast was excellent, their performances were very convincing. I would have liked to have seen some more emphasis on the main character. It didn't feel like you really knew her very well-just the situation-almost superficially.

I remember this event when it took place in the UK and this was big news at the time. This movie is a very weak re-enactment of those horrible events. This movie does not do justice to the plight of battered women in our society and particularly not Kiranjit Ahluwalia's. If you like powerful movies that re-enact historic events try Parzania, Amu, or In the Name of the Father. That's how this film should have been made. Disappointing.

If you like movies based on true events, this is a must see. Aishwarya Rai did a terrific job portraying her character. It is terrible how some women live.

A genuine reflection of a tragic true story! The movie lacks all glamour, so if that's the motivation, you can skip this... But if you want to see a truly moving, well acted and a great movie, then this is it!!
