An instant romantic classic, in the way of eternal sunshine. Wont disappoint and will relate and please the heart of the hopeless romantic and touch the heart of the none romantic as well. See, (500) days of summer.

It was ok it jumps around quite a bit but not to the point that you can't follow. It's a bitter love story so don't go expecting romance. It has an artistic feel to it.

I enjoyed a movie with the guys take for once! True to form and a good solid movie with a solid cast of actors and good storyline while also funny in parts!

Do not see this movie, sat through the whole thing a nap and my money back would have been a better use of my time.

The first word that comes to mind is "cute." Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character is very likeable and he did a very good job of convincing the audience of how lost he really is. I think Gordon-Levitt's a really good actor and I've had nothing but love for the movies that he's done over the last few years. Zooey Deschanel is quickly getting to be typecast as that "quirky alternative girl," but she did a good job of making us hate her as the character "Summer." Again, it was a cute movie, but I probably would have waited to watch it on TMN instead.

The film begins, then appear these words: Author's Note: The following is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. Especially you Jenny Beckman. Bitch. Im hooked already. Movies are made to entertain, to thrill, to create excitement, to make you feel emotions, good or bad, but once in a while, there is a film that comes out of the blue and makes you feel like no other movies before. It was true with Amélie, I felt the same coming out of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and now I add (500) Days of Summer to that short list of films that made me feel special for a little while. This is the story of boy meets girl. Boy falls in love, but girl doesnt. She loves The Smiths, Id fall in love with her too. The narrator quickly informs us it's not a love story though. From the first minute we know how its going to end as the film just back and forth in the time that last the relationship between those two characters. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Tom, a lighter role than what we might be used to see him play in the last few years, but he takes the job as seriously and proves the same efficiency. He is charming and honest. Zooey Deschanel is Summer, once again she plays the cute and quirky girl, but she is so good at it. Their chemistry is great and sincere, they make quite the believable couple, even though, they (she) dont want to put a label on it. (500) Days of Summer is a somewhat profound dissection of a relationship, some scenes are shown early on but our read changes when the scene is showed again towards the end. It's the same in real life, love (whatever it is) is blinding and perceptions can change when looking back at smaller events. Like real life, (500) Days of Summer has its share of drama and comedy, and they come in the right amount. It feels very genuine, thoughtful and even inspiring in some ways. A film not to be missed about the nature of relationship, but also about what its really like to be confused by feelings we dont understand. The soundtrack is amazing and the pacing is perfect. Makes you smile, might make you cry, and will make you feel so good inside, exactly what I needed right now. A film I will cherish for a long time. Summer: You weren't wrong, Tom. You were just wrong about me.

Excellent movie. Original for a change. Very realistic and clever. A little sinical in it's message, but at the same time a good dose of reality. If you're expecting this to be a love story, you'll be very surprised. Not as much of a chick flick as I expected. Not going to appeal to everybody, but if you are like intelligent and well drawn stories, this is a good movie for you.

I absolutely loved this movie in its entirety!! I don't remember ever seeing a plot like this before, or if I have, it's never been this well done! The ending was perfect and very realistic. And of course, AMAZING soundtrack!! I'm buying this as soon as it comes out on DVD!

Good movie. You'll realize that Summer comes and goes. A little sad, but life will go on. A good time watching the movie.

This was an excellent movie that should be seen. The acting was good and the characters were realistic compared to many other movies being made today. I think the possible reason why some people gave this movie a poor review was that they did not or could not follow along from the changes of the days. Even though most time it stated which day, it did not always show. So, you have to follow the movie and it will be easily understood. The jumping of days was a necessary aspect of the movie in order for it to flow better. I know this sounds contradictory, but life is never able to flow consistently, and this movie helped emphasize that. Again, the "jumping" back and forth of the days really helped develop the story. Perhaps if you do not want to see a movie that makes you think about the meaning (which there were many in this movie), then maybe go stick to watching superhero movies and simpler movies that follow the same basic plotline. If you want to watch boring action with no meaning to it, then watch movies like Transformers or GI Joe.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] 500 days of summer left me feeling ambiguous about spending the time watching a movie. It really was a stressful, tug-a-war of misery. Thankfully it had a good ending.

Very charming movie movie of the comming of age of a young man and all the changes he faces with the experience of his first love. The acting was convincing, the portrayal passionate and the script and screenplay followed well the quality of the acting. Altogether, its recommended as long as its what you are looking for. An indie-type movie of young love and young pain.

I thought this movie had great potential but fell really flat. The jumping back and forth between the 500 days was pretty much uneventful. Boring writing, average acting and bad directing. Wait for the dvd when you can at least fall asleep on the couch while your girlfriend/wife watches it.

I do not recomend this movie, it goes back and forth between days 37 to the 10 to the 500 then to 5 and it has no real meaning.

This movie had promise - Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a good actor and Zooey does some interesting work - but it fell flat. The biggest thing that bothered me was the early feel of the actors giving off the vibe of 'hey check us out - we're making a movie! ' I had this feeling before the dip into musical-land but needless to say, it was reinforced heavily at that point. Fine actors, poor material - bizarre music in spots.

This was an excellent movie experience! Finally a movie that is true-to-life where love is concerned. The actors, writing, and directing were all brilliant. It’s so funny and moving, and in my opinion most of us have been a Summer and a Tom. Go see it!

Liked that it was not typical Hollywood romance. Characters not stupid or clutzes. Liked characters being realistic. Thought male lead very good. Story did not grab me. I never really cared about either character. Acting good, but story not gripping.

I liked this movie. The way it was made, the funny little lines, the music. I left the theater with an feeling of happiness. People have too much expectations when they go to the movies... they want to see what they thought the movie was going to be. Enter the theater with an open mind and enjoy.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I don't know what to think about this movie. All I know is that I left the theater with a very bad taste in my mouth. SPOILER ALLERT!!! I don't know if it's the fact that's Summer is a unstable, commitment-phobe liar, or that the dude (his name has slipped my mind) is completly needy and desperate. As it says in the beggining, it really is not a love story. So I feel like showing their relationship evolve the whole movie was not only a lie, but a huge waste of time. I would not recomend this movi to anyone!!!

This was a very relatable story with engaging performances. It's refreshing to see a more bitter-sweet take on the concept of 'Love', rather than Hollywood's typical propaganda! Some nice stylistic touches too, and a great soundtrack. Recommended for rental, at least. See my full review on YouTube: "Gab reviews 500 Days of Summer"!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This one is a toughie to review. I liked it and I didn't. Does that make sense? It jumped a lot from day to day within the 500 days but it was easy enough to follow. It was really just an "okay" kinda movie. Something light and fluffy. A no brainer? I felt sorry for the guy. She really is a selfish "B" but tried to come off looking all sweet and innocent. I've tried to see what people love about it. Maybe it's my age?

In short, this movie was amazing. I'm usually not a giant fan of the "artsy" movies, sometimes it can just be too much. However, in this one, it is not overdone. The "artsy" parts are tastefully done, giving visuals to emotions that are difficult to express in words (aka pure joy/happiness, hopelessness etc.) The acting was superb, the story was great, and the soundtrack was incredible. I loved it because the story remained very believable, and was a perfect balance between funny and serious. It really is NOT a love story, but it is a story ABOUT love. The only thing I did not enjoy was the last line in the movie, but that is so minor that I don't think it will affect how I feel about the movie. :)

I do not understand why Hollywood had to take away the Indie and turn it into a Formula? Take Juno, Garden State and Little Miss Sunshine, stick into blender and voila! Out comes this ridiculous film that has nothing new, nothing original to say and is full of product placement and fake emotions. I had to walk out after 25 minutes. I never walk out of movies!
