The people praising the movie in this review must actually be the cast themselves or must of worked on it in some way... It is the only possible explanation because this movie is brutal. It is sooo stupid and predictable. Don't waste your time and money.

I am not sure why this movie get so many totally negative comments and mentions of people walking out of the theatre. It is billed as a black comedy and that is what you get. Not as polished as "Something About Mary" but just as over the top. Definitely funny. Definitely offensive. Go see the movie but don't bring your mother.

Well, I loved this movie and I am 50 years old. Another man about my age was laughing out loud while the credits were rolling at the end, he enjoyed it so much. Maybe it is geared to a younger audience, as another reviewer felt, but I found it refreshing, albeit in a style that was at times adolescent. The lead bore a fair resemblance to Jim Carrey, I thought. The last scene was priceless! If you are easily offended this is not your movie, but if you are tired of the same old Hollywood crap but don't want to think a movie to death either, go and laugh at the absurdity of life in this little gem. And it's Canadian!

The first clue I should have had was the theater was almost empty. Those that stayed, some left half way through. How could anyone like this horrible movie. Is it just because it is a made in Canada movie. I would have to say this is a black eye for the Canadian movie industry.

I saw you might as well live two weeks ago now, and I still laugh thinking about this film. I recommend it to anyone who has a sense of humor. It's a picture that I found so stupid at some points that I began to think it was brilliant... real fun to check out with friends, especially if you smoked some marijuana beforehand. Raises the bar for Canadian film.

Poor movie: absolutely not recommended. Bad images, sad and predictable story.

It's one of those love it or leave it comedies. I literally saw 7 people (out of about 15 in the theatre) walk out halfway. It has some funny moments but at some point it loses steam. Overall, amusing but something is amiss.

Cult classic? Well, cult of stupidity maybe. There are many lowbrow comedies that ARE classics; Airplane, Old School, Napoleon Dynamite, Extract - the list goes on and on and on. It's just that, no matter how much I'd like to see this Canadian production on the list, it's nowhere even close, on ANY level, cult or otherwise. It was just a painful hour and a half with, as far as I could tell, very few laughs for anyone in the theater. This movie gets a '2' based solely on the fact that they were somehow successful in finding financing, and convincing Micheal Madsen to cameo.

Very funny and quirky comedy. Reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite. There were a couple or so walk-outs so not for all, definitely not your typical comedy.

Cult classic! You either get or you don't. Notice the ratings are either very good or very bad, nothing in between. Reminds me of the reviews of another cult classic-"Drowning Mona".

Appreciate the movie for what it is. A quirky, well acted and produced Canadian comedy made on a tight budget. You won't get any Will Ferrel type laughs, but 'Robert Mutt' is great and the movie does deliver a few enjoyable, funny scenes.

This movie was just awful. I really wanted to like it, and I kept waiting for the laughs that all the other raters wrote about, but they never came. Stay away.

It was awesome, and it was totally made for the 18-35 age group. Anyone older won't get it, anyone in that age group will love it.

Not funny at all. I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about - I did not hear one person laugh when I went to see it. I really wanted to like it, but it was just plain bad.

Just go see it. It was like an Indie-movie carnival, all-inclusive, awesome time. Simon Ennis, kudos. Josh Peace, amazing. Nicole Arbour, best surprise ever. Kristen Fairly, yay.

I've already seen this movie several times, almost pissed myself laughing in each case. Peace is hilarious as Mutt, great supporting cast too. Brought different friends each time, and they equally loved it.

Obscenely funny!! In all senses. A totally dark, twisted, politically incorrect but SURPRISING and SWEET movie, it doesn't let up in the pacing and has you laughing every minute. There are scenes you'll be remembering days after... and quoting to your friends! I saw it with 5 friends and we're still recounting parts of the movie. It's hard not to give spoilers in reviewing it. "Stormy Blaze" almost steals the show - worth the ticket price alone! You'll know what I mean once you've seen it. All the cast are great though, the main actor is perfect and everyone else seems to be having a blast just being in this film! Robert Mutt is NOT a douchebag!!

I think you've made a mistake in rating this movie 1 out of 10. If my vote was the only one counted and posted- it should have been a 10! For the sake of the movie- I really hope you correct this!

I was expecting a dark and edgy comedy with a lot of dirty jokes when I went to see You Might As Well Live. It's all that (even gives John Waters and the Farelly Brothers a run for their money) but the great thing is... as outrageous as some of the jokes are, its also very sweet. The main character Robert Mutt has a lot of heart and as much of an idiot as he is, I couldn't help but really feel for him. Go see this movie, it's totally rude but it has lots and lots of laughs.

"You Might As Well Live" is a very funny, dark comedy... a Canadian cross between "Borat" and "Napolean Dynamite"... it's not perfect, a little uneven in places but a really promising first feature and has plenty of laughs and memorable scenes!! The sort of movie that unfortunately gets a really short run in cinemas, so see it while you can!

Laughed out loud... very funny. A must see. Particularly liked the "down and out" scenes. Loved the way the movie spoofed all our ernest beliefs. Humans are sometimes ridiculous. It was great to laugh. Nothing was sacred.

You Might as Well Live! Aside from the genius title, this film has much to offer you. The absurd moments and positive messages of this movie are intertwined in a way that might leave you questioning what exactly is going on, but in the end this movie was so ridiculous, it was hard not to love.

My wife and I saw this movie last night and loved it. Josh Peace is awesome as Robert Mutt. We both found that it had a very well devleoped plot line and had the makings of a cult classic for sure. Several times during the movie I was laughing out very loudly as were the people around us. Michael Madsen does a great job as Clinton Manitoba, Mutts idol, and I must give props to the supporting cast as they aided in my true enjoyment of this film. Go see it. It's a lot of fun.
