Although it may seem too long (3 hours lenght) it worthwhile to spend such time, it is a historical portrait of a hungarian family for almost a century.

I cannot get enough of this movie. I have watched it 3 times In the last 2 days. I hope it is on shotime again so I can tape it. At first I really didn't want to watch it, I flicked it to the channel and went on the computer. I was on the computer and half listening to the movie. I started to watch it, and got hooked. I cannot believe the characters Ralph Fiennes played. He is incredible. I loved this movie, I love this movie.

First of all I have to let everyone know that I'm hungarian and that my father is jewish... This movie is incredible. It shows very well the reallity. My dad kept on telling me our family history... and even if it wasn't exactelly like that I could easily imagine how it was for jews at that time... This movie is gorgous!! It deserves a lot of awards... I love those movies... they are hard tough but good...

This was a wonderful movie. I'm not the kind who likes heavy movies, and this certainly was... still could not get enough of it. Deeply moving, beautifully done. The history is touching for how real and the acting is exquisite. Perhaps too long, still I can't see how it could be shorter.

I absolutely adored this movie... But I can understand those who have been bored watching it... if you are not a little bit part of that history you cannot see what the director is trying to say... All those who have lived under oppression of any kind, who have seeked acceptance, freedom and dignity or have had someone in their family living in those times MUST be touched by it. I strongly recommend it to everyone, especially people who want to find and understand more about Eastern European history... it's a wonderful lesson about spiritual inheritance and roots, survival and "finding joy in your life"...

After reading all the comments I thought I was in for a great night of movie watching. Not so. The movie was good, yes, interesting, kind of, but 'best movie I've ever seen', 'spectacular', 'run to the theater'? I don't think so. Fiennes played 3 characters that were exactly alike. So much so I couldn't quite keep them all straight. I've seen him in this and the English Patient and he was equally unlikable in both.

When is the last time you saw a masterpiece? When is the last time you saw great actors? When is the last time you listen to excellent dialog? It is about time.

As a History lover myself, I adored this film. It takes you through the most difficult times in history to live as a jew in Hungary. It was touching...I always had tears in my eyes. Ralph Fiennes gives one of his best performances. He deserves an oscar for this movie. Go see this movie.!

Sunshine is without any doubt the movie of the year. It has everything: a wonderful story line, unforgettable characters, superb costumes and set decoration and, above all, fantastic acting. Ralph Fiennes gives the performance of a life time. Nobody can challenge the fact that he is one of the best, if not the best actor of his generation, here, he prooves it again playing 3 very different persons. His co-stars are also perfect in their role, particularly Rosemary Harris, the wife, mother and grand-mother of the 3 men played by Fiennes. I also appreciated the presence of Rachel Weisz and William Hurt in small but very important parts. It is a must see for everyone. I'd give it a 15 if it was possible. A winner.
