Unbelievable, not a thing wasted or overdone. The way that Branagh does "The Soliliquy" will make your jaw drop to the ground.

DVD allows you to understand all the spoken word of this greatest play ever. Seeing it more than once is essential, all acting, directing and the sets are fabulous. I wish I could buy it on DVD, it does not seem available right now.

Wow... it's absolutely wonderful... I thought shakespeare was boring, but apparently, it is not. The actors are excellent and the story is just... wow!

Hamlet is so hott. I could watch him for hours. Compared to all the other versions this one is far superior. [...]

Excellent movie, far superior to all other versions. Kenneth Branagh is brilliant and awfully easy on the eyes.

This was one amazing movie. Although it was a bit long and drawn out at times, it had an amazing storyline, and one of the best endings I've ever seen.

I didn't feel the "Epic-ness" of this film, even though the script was great. It seemed to me that Kenneth Branagh stole the show, and the rest of the cast lacked a lot of passion. I watched it in English class, in four sections, so maybe it would have made a difference if I had seen it all in one shot, on a big screen... but I don't know..

Great cast and amazing production values, contrary to what an earlier reviewer states. This is a far superior adaptation to the Mel Gibson one.

I loved it. Ken Branagh has directed and starred in what can be called none other than his masterpiece. Granted, it is long (running a little over 4 hours) but the sets and scenery are breathtaking. It is the only full-text version of the movie ever made, and should be required viewing by all high-school students.

Wonderful cast! Shame it was such a terrible production. I adore Shakespeare, but this adaptation did not capture my interest. It really should have worked... the story, cast, and costumes are striking, but it lacks the magical element that makes a film wonderful. I recommend the Mel Gibson version instead.

Pales in comparison to the 2000 version, but it still very well done. As one of Shakespeare's best plays, the script is of course amazing. The acting, scenery and music are all great, but just not quite deserving of a 9 =)
