Great music throughout movie. I didn't feel the emotions throughout the movie. I found the family members were COLD towards the death of their daughter, a little unrealistic.

This movie really makes you think. It gives a new meaning to death when the family cannot deal in the normal ways of grieving. They are unique characters which is why some may find it hard to believe; but there are people out there like this, make no mistake!

A touching, honest and realistic depiction of life and its tragedies. Recommended for people who prefer substance over visual stimulation.

That was a great movie. I guess people deal with death differently. That's why I equally enjoyed "In The Bedroom" and "Moonlight Mile". Yes, this one is cuter, but hell with it, I'd be the same.

I think that Jake Gyllenhaal was fantastic in this film. He is really flexing his acting muscles in this one. He held his own along the greats like Surrandon, Hoffman and Hunter. The film was a good mix of humour and sorrow. I don't agree with some of the reviews that have been saying the film was not realistic enough. I think it was. Not everyone reacts to the death of a loved one with tears. They express their sadness in other ways. This was an excellent film.

Moonlight Mile is a strong romantic drama, but is needlessly cluttered with heavy profanity (over a dozen instances of God's name in vain) and other bad language. There is also one scene of premarital sex as Joe and Bertie end up in each other's arms. Bare shoulders and backs was about all the nudity involved, but such reckless relationships are promoted as being ok, and even a good thing (for the sake of comfort) If it hadn't been for those two negative factors, I would encourage many friends to see.

Slow paced movie. Serandon was excellent. Hoffman did not quite fit the role but actor that he is pulled it off. Bought the sound track on the way home from the theater.

Beautiful movie! Once gain, Susan Sarandon is so real, she reminds you of your favorite aunt. Dustin Hoffman is fantastic as the neurotic father and husband. And the newcomer Jake Gyllenhaal is sensitively sweet, but not sickenly so. Touching movie - made me cry at the end. Highly recommend it.

I don't know why some viewers gave this movie such a low rating. Granted it was not fast-paced, but given the subject matter I am not sure it is realistic to expect anything different. What made this movie worth seeing was the acting. Although some viewers found it strange that the characters did not cry much, I think Sarandon and Hoffman's role centered on their anger over their daughter's murder and how they were dealing with her death. Surprisingly, one thing I enjoyed about this movie was its soundtrack.

Loved this movie overall. I'm so tired of fast-paced, stupid-humor, over sexed films. The subtleties were lovely, the light, the eye-contact, the painful and ridiculous and rich moments that UNDERLY dealing with a tragedy -- which causes life to be warped and time trapped for awhile. Anybody can make a film where everybody is sobbing after a death. EASY. Now try and get at some of the strangeness and new relationships that result from a murder. The film captured that. It felt like a good book to me. I wasn't crazy about the perhaps predictable ending. Otherwise thought this a high quality film in several ways. A welcome relief from Hollywood schlock. The music great, Dustin Hoffman a treat...

My word did this ever drag on. I wanted to like the movie but it was so plain to look at and so dull generally. Susan Sarandon was the best but not that different of a character than she usually plays. Painfully slow and hence not very entertaining!

Oh my lord. What was that? This film was the most unrealistic realistic film I have ever seen. The characters' reactions to the death of their daughter/fiance (Diane) were ridiculous. If your daughter was murdered, would you cry at her funeral? They didn't. There was hardly any crying throughout the entire film. They seamed almost indifferent most of the time. I couldn't believe my eyes. Do not see this film. Do not see this film. Do not see Moonlight Mile. If you want to see a film that deals well with death, see "In The Bedroom".

Definitely this movie leads you to believe that some guys out there are just so pathetic that they have to go all out to get at the truth. This movie (although it has its moments) drags on about one mans struggle to find the truth about himself. You sort of get the feeling, as to whether or not he will. Definitely a chick flic!

Wow, what a boring movie... and no, I don't have attention deficit disorder, nor do I have to excuse myself as you may think I just enjoy fast-paced and mindless films. That is not the case. This movie just bored me. I tried taking a nap but my cell phone vibrated and I decided to take the call and chat for a few minutes. I don't think too many people near me minded, my conversation was probably more interesting to them than the movie was.

It's a painfully flawed movie whose characters are awkwardly drawn and whose relationships are stereotyped and stagy. You never forget when you watch it that these are actors --good ones--playing cardboard roles in a sophomoric story.

Excruciatingly painful to watch due to the utter mindnumbing tranquilizing effect this movie can induce. The boredom can envelope you into hallucinegenic mind experiences wishing you were next door watching Mr Tuxedo. Its beyond me why movies like this are even thought up, and why girls go for this crap. Really... Its totally sad what a guy has to do to get some at the end of the night.

Even when dealing with something as difficult as losing a loved one, this movie manages to find the humourous moments. It tells us that it's okay to laugh through our tears. It's to the credit of Silberling's writing and some deft performances, that the film isn't reduced to maudlin drama. Gyllenhaal is in almost every frame and the story is told through his experiences. He essentially carries the movie, displaying a boyish and awkward charm. His scene in the courtroom is especially gut-wrenching and guaranteed to have you reaching for a tissue. Sarandon and Pompeo also deliver excellent performances. The only weak link for me was Hoffman; it almost felt like he was trying too hard. Just my opinion, though.
