This movie could have been sooo much better. I think Ryan Gosling was completely miscast. The whole time I was watching I couldn't believe in him as some accomplished on-the-rise hotshot lawyer capable of bedding down the beautiful blonde. Instead I wanted to offer him milk and cookies.

Sir Anthony Hopkins seemed to be just floating through the movie. As a lead character he acted more like a supporting cast member. I guess when you're as good an actor as Hopkins, you can take a back seat every now and then. Ryan Gosling is strong in his role although I didn't buy the turn around role he played near the end of the movie. Sorry Ryan, people don't change over night. Nice try though. Still worth seeing.

If you watched the teaser, there's no point watching the whole movie because the plot is as simple as that. The movie is so badly edited that it missed a few step with the relationship development, well that or the character of his new boss is a needy hoe.

I enjoyed this one. I regret not seeing it in theatres. Anthony Hopkins is really a terrific actor and this movie was one of his best. I love the evil roles he plays.

My favourite movie of all time is "Silence of the Lambs". Actor, well that would be Anthony Hopkins. I have grown to really respect Ryan Gosling as well. Maybe as a result I'm biased. However I thought the movie was awesome and totally unpredictable. I gave it a seven I guess because in comparison to my favs it could have been better.

Just when you thought it was the end of the movie, it had another twist to it. I loved the movie for it!

A good story with interesting twists. Hopkins and Gosling's performances are larger than the screen. Great casting!
