Nathan Sellers is couch-surfing through life, currently in San Francisco's Outer Sunset district. He is lazy, lonely and unispired. His favorite pastimes are eating, sleeping and cooking. On the day before his 30th birthday he decides to call in 'sick' to work at the local video store. But his 'day off' gets off to a bad start when he's reminded he has to move out of his friends apartment by the end of the month. His day goes from bad to worse when his best friend uninvites him on the road trip they had planned together, due to Nathan's lack of funds. Then, his band threatens to replace him for not paying his share of band expenses. While taking a walk to clear his head, he runs into Ava, and old aquaintance he hasn't seen in a while. As Nathan fills her in on what he's going through, she tries to help him figure out what he can do to improve his circumstances. She inspires him to begin to persue his passion in life. But before the day ends, Nathan runs into some old demons that threaten to keep him stuck in his old ways. Will Ava get him to 'look around and get with the program' or will he spend another 30 years stuck in his 'Adultescence', in the Outer Sunset.
