I absolutely adored this documentary on famed tennis star ALTHEA GIBSON who rose from the slums to conquer the white tennis world as an amateur. Great interviews and news footage all demonstrate what a force of nature she was. If that were not enough she took up golf and was very good at it, not to mention a singing career which got her a record deal. But in the end, there was hardship before a great humanitarian effort all for that black girl who brought glory to herself, her race and her American roots. What a wonderful role model.
