Jurassic Park

I never liked the first Jurassic Park, it takes them 15 minutes to get to the island, 15 minutes. You don't get to see the T-rex until over an hour in too, and no rapters until an hour and a half in. It's like Spielberg held back or something and never really wanted to make a good story. This movie is one of the worst book adaptations I have ever seen, the book is completely different. The characters are completely different and because of it some of them seem confused because they have no clue how it makes sense. There was so much missing from the book such as all the stuff with Denis and his partner in crime, they totally avoided all of that. This is me speaking as a fan of the book and proud defender of its source material. But to judge the movie by itself, you don't know if your watching a monster movie or a movie like Jaws where it builds up. It never really settles in, there is nothing innovative about Jurassic Park, it slips and slides down a mudslide.
