Something Borrowed

I might have slightly overrated this movie but hey, I like Ginnifer Goodwin; always refreshing to see her in a movie. Acting: Kate Hudson and John Krasinski killed it. Kate Hudson was doing her thing as usual: over the top, melodramatic but at the same time, so real. It's almost like she doesn't even have to force herself to play a role: she's just the character in real life. The writers, the producers and the director should thank John Krasinski for the way he played his part. He was the only credible character and he definitely helps the viewer go through the whole movie. Ginnifer Goodwin was cute but let's face it, her acting was so-so. Storyline: Never read the book but finding the strength to be the person you want to be and not what's expected from you thanks to cheating, isn't that a little bit outrageous? I didn't like the storyline at all. It was all about glamorizing cheating and backstabbing your BFF when the cornerstone of the story is Rachel and Darcy's friendship. The love relationships were the poorly, not-so-fun written parts destined to people who live vicariously through romantic movies, so WTH? Overall, it was light: no thinking at all involved, a lot of frowns though (too much cowardice) A "what-if" movie, some married couples or people in a relationship might question why they're with their current partners. I hope this won't open the floodgates to many breakups by the end of the summer;-)
