    A Guy Named Joe

This fantasy drama of a pilot who dies and feels that heaven is much like the air force has a chance to return to earth to do some good. In this sense the movie reminds us of later films such as Frank Capra's jewel It's A Wonderful Life, The Bishop's Wife in which Cary Grant plays an Angel to help Bishop David Niven and the stage play and later film of Carousel starring Shirley Jones and Gordon MacCrae in which Billy descends from heaven to earth to aid the needy. The twist in this film is that Tracy finds things on earth that make his life seem only half complete though he does accomplish his earthly task. You can bet Miss Dunne has something to do with it.
