    A Walk in the Woods

I've read Bill Bryson for years, laughed uproariously very often doing so. In some of my travels, I've encountered places, even people he's written about, and marveled at how "bang-on" his reportage was.

Somehow, news that a Bryson book was transferring to film had escaped me. The chosen title is curiously, not one I'd think of first, but likely the most "doable".

"A Walk In the Woods" is a fine film, it has caring hands on it, delivering an enduring, relatable tale with affection.

The main duo Robert Redford and Nick Nolte, are effortless, gliding through the abrasions, and humours of bonding again through trial.

Emma Thompson is good here, as is Mary Steenburgen. Warm, gentle ladies, a little pining, and some maybe's.

Kristen Schaal's role grates just enough, to rouse some empathy.

The whole cast is well chosen, everyone fits in to the journey as they would.

I do lament, a bit of language, for some it may preclude a full acceptance of this sharing film. Utterance's, fully relatable, tho'.

The scenery is stellar, wonderous, the soundtrack entirely appropriate.

Robert Redford does not make "poor"films, he is America's independent film champion emeritus. Bravo, a very good one.
