It was absolutely ripping to see the girls again! I was counting down the minutes for this movie, as I have a long and deeply personal relationship with Patsy and Eddie. I was sure the movie would not disappoint, no matter what. Well, I'm eating those words. I was so glad to see so many characters from the series appearing in the movie, and they all looked absolutely fabulous - in fact, I was the only one sporting new wrinkles and an extra 2 stone. The bits were good, just what one came to expect from the series. However, there was an element missing that I just can't put my finger on. I don't know if it was the big screen making the activities seem removed and less personal, or if it was the material that was better suited to a half-hour telly show, rather than a 2 hour movie. I don't know if the spirit of the actors/characters had changed: all I do know is that my heart was not satisfied, despite experiencing quite a few good laughs. I would see Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie again in a heartbeat - for sentimental reasons, and to see if that elusive feeling of reuniting with great friends kicks in.
