An excellent movie, highly recommended. One might dismiss the plot concept as simplistic, but it is topical and clearly executed. The characters are sharply delineated and the dialogue is crisp and to the point. The visual design is awesome, and the execution of that concept -- in 3D -- is truly exceptional. The interation between the computer-generated animation and the live action is excellent, especially at the end when one of the computer-generated characters enters the live-action world to save one of the humans that they have come to respect and honour. If one wants to get a little bit political, the portrayal of the natives' customs and traditions might be interpreted as honouring the culture and traditions of our own aboriginal cultures, but that does not make the portrayal any less relevant to the story. Definitely Oscar material.
