Writer/Director Mark Harris presents a fable like all black romantic comedy which is more likable than most romantic comedies I have seen of late. With a very attractive, talented group of mainly unknown actors Black Coffee serves up a very tasty brew while leaving us with a number of matters to ponder not least of which is how much good can come from a pretty bad situation or the importance of leading an exemplary life without some hidden agenda or ax to grind. It all ends before becoming a bit too preachy. I might not like coffee, but this BLACK COFFEE is pretty hard to turn down.
