    Bridge of Spies

Because of the scripting co-written by the Cohen Brothers, the peerless cinematography by Janusz Kaminski and as usual the fine directing by Steven Spielberg, this is a winner. Tom Hanks portrays the very smart insurance lawyer who is in the mould of a Frank Capra-Jimmy Stewart hero. World-renowned stage actor, Mark Rylance steals scenes as the quiet, dignified, wry-humored alleged spy Abel (the phrase "Would it help?" used in a certain context provides us with some dry humor) I'd say to look for this performance to be acknowledged at Oscar time. Based on the true story of the U2 (as in spyplane not the band)1960 incident-at the time when the Cold War was heating up, this film should be of particular interest to those who remember when this story was in all the headlines.
