This thriller takes some time to unfold, something some people complain about which makes no sense to me at all. One has to give the story line time to build gradually thus allowing for suspense and some thrills. Seemingly odd, two perfect strangers, a woman and her taxi driver seem to eventually make a connection. Though mysterious, violent and sexual, the other side of the coin is quite the opposite with human compatibility and a seeming want of something greater than their present lives. Though there are impediments great and small along the way, what we have is a desire for something every human heart needs and wants. I am always on the lookout for a solid film in French, my teaching language and this Canadian film doesn't disappoint. Though I have not seen Roy Dupuis in many roles as is the case for the rest of the cast, Mr. Dupuis gives quite the performance which has put him in my list as an actor capable of coming up with the goods. It's always wonderful to run across a French-Canadian film of quality as I have seen my share of truly mediocre ones.
