I read the other reviews and found many great points have been already made. This is probably suited to an older crowd 20+ yet the higher review scores are coming from teens. I suppose that is due to the goriness factor. This is a fresh movie. The storyline is very easy to follow. As has been mentioned by someone in these reviews, ALL the characters are unknowns which really lends itself well well to the fear factor for all the movies' characters. I found the gritty documentary filming style was a terrific touch. Special effects were fine and of course the blood and thud stuff was a tad overdone in spots. For me it was the best movie of the summer. From start to finish you will be enthralled. The main character could get an Oscar nomination for his performance. I was drawn to his role much like I was to Heath Ledger's in the Dark Knight. He quietly dominated the story with his courage and changing values.
