I did not like the movie. Brad Pitt seems to be on an anti-nazi kick painting the war in gross black and white terms. The movie is just not believable. That an Abrams tank can out duel a Tiger tank in an open field when the Tiger tank gets several shots at it is while the Abrams cannon shot bounces off the German armour is laughable... German tanks were deadly shots, especially in ambush. The scenes to condition the new recruit to realities of war were uncomfortable and if true shows the Americans to be as cruel as their worst enemy and the final stand is just not believable at all they should have been easily taken out by the anti-tank RPG-like guns the Germans had but did not use. It is simply a overblown propaganda type movie showing the ugly side of American military for me.

Brad Pitt and the Americans were in Sherman's aka 'tommy cookers' Silly review doesn't know his history.
The critic of my review is correct... in my disgust for this movie I named the wrong tank... I should have called it a Sherman tank. But that does not make any difference to the content or my feelings. The Sherman tank was nicknamed "Tommy Cooker" by the British and "Ronson" by Canadians for its ability to catch fire when hit.
