    Gran Torino

As a movie star Icon you gotta love Clint Eastwood, right? Ok now that we got that over with, Gran Torino is a flat predictable movie with performances that could be best described as acting classes. There is so much cliché in this movie that I had problems trying to uncross my eyes several times throughout the film. Clint Eastwood did not have to growl in his close-ups for us to understand his disgust. You would think that Sergio Leone taught him to do nothing back in '66 with The GB&U. I was looking forward to a film that was at the calibre of million dollar baby but unfortunately this flick turned into a two cent ho. Some folks in Hollywood are saying that Clint should be nominated for best actor but he doesn't stand a chance against Sean Penn or Philip Seymour Hoffman or even myself.

I saw the movie tonight - I have to agree with every word you wrote. Went with two friends who loved it and roared with laughter at some of the dialogue. Not me. I was disappointed at Clint in this film and I do adore Clint. What a shame.

Eastwood and the Priest' performances were stellar. Gripping and full of truth. The others I will agree with. Too cliche. They are cliches for a reason (truth anybody) And yes he does have to growl. When you are upset do you just sit there or do you scowl. Of course you do. And what are you, like 12? I can't believe you listed yourself as 50+ and then said "two cent ho".

Adam... grow up dude... how's that for more youthful expression... what are you a twit... what does anybody's age have to do with the way they express themselves? That was my review and I was using a bit of what is called "sarcasm". The scene with the priest was not a good scene. None of the movie was good at all... ok maybe when he was visiting with his neighbors and enjoying asian cuisine. But that was it. NO HE DID NOT HAVE TO GROWL! Over acting in the highest my friend. And I listed myself as 50+ because that's what I happen to be. When you get to that age perhaps you will realize that it's just a number and expressing oneself has nothing to do with it. Clint Eastwood could have simply looked into the camera with a disgusted face and that would have sufficed... we would have gotten it. What is this grade one cartoon class? This was not animation or did you notice?

You tell him Riverdalekid. I couldn't agree more - except I might insert that the racism was pretty much chin-deep. I have been educated in the likes of words I have never heard before and if it wasn't for Clint Eastwood potentially never would have heard it in my life. It's amazing how personally people take the review of this movie. You'd think they have money invested in it - or perhaps an entirely ideology...
