I have absolutely no idea what people think they're watching when they view 'Gravity'. Gravity is 'Cast Away' in space. (And that's a withering put-down, not a thumbs-up.) The earth looks absolutely beautiful in the film and one can hope it'll make filmgoers consider how we humans treat (and mistreat) the planet. But I doubt that. Ms. Bullock is in way way over her head in Gravity and the results are embarrassing. Even if she wasn't, the endless close-ups show an utter lack of vision of the director's part. The film is both boring and insulting. And the dialogue is uniformly dreadful. At least it's short-a rare show of common sense on the director's part.
