I had a bit of trouble with making musical comedy out of such a serious topic as racial integration. Some of the racial stereotyping like all the kids in detention were black and could dance better than the white kids was a bit obvious, but the message of acceptance and tolerance shone through in the end. The musical numbers were great and entertaining. Kudos to Elijah Kelley. I hope we'll be seeing more of him in the movies and on stage.
