Let me preface my scoring by stating that I am grading it as a horror flick. There won't be any Oscar nominations for this or any other horror flick. One can't help but compare Mike Myers to Jason. Both wear an odd mask, overalls and their weapon of choice is a huge knife. Where they differ is that Mike is truly mean., ,, lol (There's nothing worse than a mean serial killer.) Jason tends to be succinct and creative in his executions. Mike though, delivers the blows repeatedly long after the victim is limp and lifeless. Some reviews criticized the plot... Duh... I know! I know! The white horse thingie was overdone, but really, the audience needs some respite from the bludgeoning, even if it is a bit silly. Mr. Zombie has great timing, uses dark and misty conditions well to maintain the onslaught of deaths/suspense. I would add that most horror movies today are almost comedic in their delivery. It is quite common for some deaths to elicit laughter form the audience... but not Halloween II. And believe it or not I think that all the acting in general was very good. A closing criticism is that Mike should be SILENT and deadly. I found his grunts gave him an almost human quality.. I would recommend this one over "Final destination" for horror. Final Destination's 3-D gives it an added interest, but lacks Halloween's sinistery... (Is sinistery a word? )

Very good review. People often make the mistake of comparing Zombie's Halloween movies to Carpenter's version, which is unfair because nothing will ever compare to the original. Rob Zombie's movies are 100 times better than movies like Final Destination or that piece of garbage Friday the 13th remake.
Thanks you Oilers fan. I appreciate your comment. I am left to wonder if there is not a better forum for evaluating the assorted genres of movies. It is difficult to evaluate movies like this one to Hangover which I thought had a clever story line... to say Ice Age... to well anything else. I also noticed that two kiddies under the age of 12 watched Halloween and gave it extremely high scores... Why are they allowed to watch this 18A stuff? I will watch for your monicker in future. Again thanks.
