Inglourious Basterds... is great stuff. A great homage to war movies of the '40's when actors really acted and screenwriters wrote great literary dialogue and exciting suspenseful stories... all spiced up with Tarantino's special brand of craziness and lashings of the old ultraviolence. Lots of subtitled dialogue that went on a tiny bit too long, but lots and lots of surprises, great moments and brilliant, unforgettable characters... Not as brutal or action-packed as the trailers suggested... There was enough stuff going into this movie to make 3 ordinary features. I can see reasons for this not to have universal appeal... but if you love movies for more than eye candy and wasting time, this is a classic.
