My Dad told me to run and see this film and he was right on the money. What a treat and delight, especially the late great, Buddy Hackett. He steals the show with his strong stage presence.

I agree with you. I liked Buddy Hackett a lot, but also Dorothy Provine (Emeline Marcus-Finch) and Sid Caesar (Melville Crump), and Dick Shawn (Sylvester) But Spencer Tracy (Captain Culpepper) was my real discovery : he was very moving and subtle. I loved the natural tone of his role playing.
