Ok so Keanu Reeves doesn't have the acting chops of say Denzel Washington, but his revenge thriller John Wick matches Washington's The Equalizer pound for pound and in terms of sheer action, even manages to top it. Yes, once John Wick get's started, it is quite simply, the greatest example of operatic gun play since the glory days of John Woo. To be clear, if you're not interested in constant, mass-casualty shoot outs, then please don't go see this movie, for it'll spare me your "it was all fighting and shooting" reviews. For future notice, if the poster for the movie has the star pointing a giant gun at you, chances are there will be some shooting involved. The culmulative body count is close to a 100, so while a film like this is fairly indefensible on any type of thought-provoking or artistic level, to give it a negative review is just dishonest. It delivered on everything it promised and it's not John Wick's fault some people didn't know what they were walking into.
